Roderick F. De Castro was the Executive Director of the TeaM Energy Foundation, starting as Program Manager for the rural electrification program in 2004. A Php15Billion project TeaM Energy Foundation Inc. (TEFI), implemented the Barangay Electrification Assistance for Countryside Development (BEACON) Program in partnership with the Philippine government through the Department of Energy (DoE), have successfully completed the electrification of more than 300,000 homes in off-grid areas including the most remote and poorest communities in the country using power through existing grid lines, and many, through solar energy. At that time this was one of the biggest social development project to be ever undertaken by a corporate foundation.

Since then, Mr. de Castro moved to handling various other projects, activities, most notably, the Bridging Leadership Program, a partnership between Team Energy and the Asian Institute of Management, that trained emerging leaders on the Bridging Leadership framework. He has made presentations both here and abroad as a subject matter expert on community development through sustainable energy and in the practice of Corporate Social Responsibility. Mr. De Castro was also the Chairperson of the League of Corporate Foundations from 2017-2018. He is currently enrolled in a Master in Development Studies at the Sussex University.
